Q1 2015 M&A Snapshot
Posted On: April 8th, 2015
M&A activity continues to be strong across the board. Notably, China has become a hot-bed of M&A activity over the past few quarters. For transactions with sizes ranging from $25mm to $1b, Chinese acquirers / targets accounted for 23% of total consideration paid and 21% of all deals in the first quarter of 2015. These figures are up from 2% and 6%, respectively, only one year ago. Excluding the increasingly active Chinese market, Q1 2015 vs. Q1 2014 transaction volume grew a healthy but more muted 40% in number of deals (vs. +69% including China) and grew only 13% in total consideration paid (vs. +44% including China).
